Overview
Daugherty Business Solutions is looking for Java/AWS Software Engineers (developers and architects) who can adapt to new client environments and learn new technologies quickly.
We are looking for full-stack developers, but also consultants with deep expertise in specific modern technologies. We always want people to apply what they know, but if you don’t know a particular technology of interest, we provide vast opportunities to learn new capabilities.
Daugherty will work with our employees to support preferred work locations, whether from home / remote, hybrid, in-office, or some other combination that still works with our clients’ expectations.
We prefer our consultants to be located in the Eastern, Central, or Mountain timezones within the United States.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Designing, developing, and testing application code.

Solving problems using modern languages and frameworks.

Working with business analysts to understand and implement complex business functionality.

Creating well-designed, well-implemented data layers.
-
Being a member of an Agile team (standups, estimation, iterative development CI, demos, retrospectives).

Collaborating with DevOps, Release Engineering, and Operations to automate deployments.

Analyzing application specifications and technology approaches to ensure business requirements are met and scalable for future product releases.

Managing a team of developers and analysts throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Qualifications

Passion for software development with a strong customer focus.

5+ years of an established track record implementing large-scale, high-quality software applications.

Extensive hands-on experience developing Java based Spring Boot applications

Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Couch, DynamoDB
-
Expertise in implementing scalable, distributed, and highly available systems on AWS using Lambda, EC2, SNS/SQS, etc…

Experience designing and implementing a microservice architecture using event driven architecture and REST APIs
-
Additional languages Node.js, Python, GOLang, C#, Rust or equivalent a plus
-
Experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks, specifically Angular (Nice to have: React, Vue, Backbone, Ember, etc...)

Experience deploying and supporting containerized applications on AWS
-
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized software is a must
-
Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or other IAC (infrastructure as code) tooling is a must

Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and tools similar to Jenkins, Bamboo and GIT.
