In this role you will bring thought leadership to Daugherty’s Cloud competency bridging the gaps between complex business problems and solutions in the cloud for our enterprise level clients. In addition, you will help to build out Daugherty’s Cloud competency/practice by mentoring existing consultants and helping to identify future additions to the team. You will have deep knowledge and experience in the technologies that underpin AWS, Azure and/or GCP. Ideal candidates will have experience in multiple platforms but are a specialist in at least one. Previous consulting experience is preferred but we will consider those with a strong consultative mindset who are adaptable, collaborative, flexible and have an insatiable thirst for solving business problems.

Daugherty works with our employees to support preferred work locations, whether from home / remote, hybrid, in-office, or some other combination that still works with our clients’ expectations. Minimal to no travel expected.

We prefer our consultants to be located in the Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones within the United States to best align with our clients.

Responsibilities

• Building out our internal Daugherty lab environment to enable our consultants to develop solutions.
• Elevate our partnerships with cloud providers, including Microsoft (Azure), AWS, and Google.
• Support development and presentation of cloud solution perspectives.
• Designing, developing, and testing cloud migration solutions for various clients.
• Solving problems using modern tools and frameworks.
• Being a member of an Agile team (standups, estimation, iterative development CI, demos, retrospectives).

Qualifications

Experience and/or certifications in the following technologies:

• Background in Software Development (vs Infrastructure).
• Consulting experience as Application Architect, Solution Architect, or Cloud Architect functioning as a Practice/Competency Lead, assisting with Solutions and Sales Support.
• Associate level certifications or greater in at least one public cloud provider platform (AWS, Azure, GCP), with the desire to obtain additional advanced certifications.
• Depth in any Cloud platform with experience making applications Cloud Native.
• Background creating CI/CD pipelines and Containerization (K8s, Docker).
• Deep knowledge/experience deploying/running applications on Kubernetes with depth in one Kubernetes Flavor: GKE, EKS, AKS, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu.
• A background in training, will help build this capability internally in addition to being a billable consultant.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing cloud-based and hybrid solutions.
• DevOps (Jenkins Pipelines, Terraform, CDK, ARM Templates, etc.).
• Security (Security Groups, CMK, Secrets Manager).
• Networking (Subnets, CIDR, Subnet Groups, troubleshooting).
• Capability in at least one modern programming/scripting language such as Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, or C#.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, Mongo).
• Logging/Metrics evaluation.
• Practical education or experience in a technology related field, including bootcamps and focused educational programs.
• Project experience in delivering technology solutions in a team-based environment, ideally Agile development.
