Why it Matters: The Breaking News Reporter role allows early-career journalists to put their journalism skills and instincts into practice by writing for our breaking news desk. You’ll report and aggregate breaking stories that are worthy of our readers' time and occasionally report enterprise stories for Axios' newsletters.
The Details: The Breaking News Reporter will work closely with our team of editors on a Sunday-Thursday schedule to determine appropriate breaking news stories to feature on Axios.com. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with beat reporters across the Axios newsroom on stories that intersect with our various coverage areas and on items for newsletters. Ideal candidates should embody a passion for Axios and Smart Brevity, an entrepreneurial spirit and possess the following skills:
What Axios brings to the table besides salary:
Pay for this role is in the range of $33.65/hour to $38.45/hour and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Please note that this role is a full time, hourly, non-exempt role that is eligible for overtime pay.
