The team also leads critical initiatives for the Worldwide Managing Partner, Regional Managing Partners, Chief Leadership Officer, COO, CFO, and Board of Directors. Its members interact on a regular basis with many senior leaders in the firm.Partners and Expert Partners are the most senior members of the consulting staff at Bain. They typically have many years of experience leading client engagements, internal roles (offices and client areas of expertise) and are critical to the current and future success of the company. They act as advisors to senior executives and coaches/mentors to generations of developing Bain consultants.Over the past 5+ years, Bain has invested into establishing a new partner role (‘Expert Partner’), focused on partner-level talent with differentiated skill spikes than generalist partners, while equally accomplished. As this new talent platform matures, a key focus is to drive greater alignment and integration across our Expert and Generalist Partner talent platforms. This role will sit within the Partner Analysis team but also support the compensation and promotion processes of the Expert Partner program and the Expert Partner Promotion and Diligence Committee and work to help integrate those processes over time.Position SummaryThis role will be more focused initially on assisting our Expert Partner platform and, over time, more broadly, the integration of our partner talent platforms.Reporting into the Manager, Partner Analysis, you’ll be working as a member of the Partner Analysis team and collaborate closely with the Expert Partner Program team. You will provide proactive financial analytical support and management information to senior customers in Finance and Line Management, including the Expert Partner Promotion and Diligence Committee, Office Heads, and Regional and Global Finance Management. By gathering information from key business partners and internal systems, you will support the data driven decisions that drive key aspects of Bain’s operations and strategy.Responsibilities & Duties• In partnership with Manager, develop analysis and presentation materials to address and effectively communicate financial and operational issues. Proactively identify key trends and issues relevant to the business. Weigh alternatives and develop recommended solutions to GPA and Expert Program team leadership.• Proactively identify opportunities for operational and performance improvements. Independently design and execute analysis required to address issues, draw conclusions and recommend solutions to GPA and Expert Program team leadership.• Compile and analyze financial information by client and geography to inform and support business decisions of senior Bain leadership and the Compensation and Promotion Committees• Analyze firm and Partner performance, take ownership of financial analysis required in Bain’s Generalist and Expert Partner compensation processes. Work with GPA and Expert Program team leadership to analyze trends and track management stats; present recommendations to team leadership.• Work closely with the team technology groups that run the partner assessment tool called “PAS” and the Expert Partner assessment tool. Prepare and analyze data necessary for both processes.• Own and maintain key Expert Partner Assessment tools, including the Expert Partner Compensation database and Expert Partner performance dashboards, ensuring continuous enhancement of data quality, scalability, and integration with the generalist partner tool suite.• Analyze performance metrics of promotion candidates to align with the Partner and Sr. Partner promotion candidates to ensure global consistency in the promotion committees’ evaluations and help prepare materials for both promotion meetings• Prepare and maintain Excel based models to analyze performance.• Research, analyze and respond to questions raised by office heads, RMPs, the committees and Global/Regional Finance Management• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.• Support the conversion of financial information currently in excel databases into Tableau dashboards or other enhanced tools, for sharing with GPA and Expert Program team leadershipQualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance or Accounting), Math, Economics or related analytic field with high academic achievement• 3-5 years progressive experience in a finance or analytical role with quantitative modeling• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills• Strong organizational, planning, project management and problem solving skills• Very strong proficiency with Excel (financial modeling & data aggregation, lookups, macros); proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Outlook; experience using and creating Tableau dashboards, working knowledge of Alteryx a plus• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact with collaborative team and with senior management• Detail-oriented and strong customer service skills• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; enthusiastic team player• Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional, mature manner• Prior experience working within a Bain revenue analyst role / Bain revenue knowledge, a plusPerson Specification• Flexible attitude and team approach• “Can do!” mentality• Proficient organization, prioritization and time management skills• Strong attention to detail• Able to work on own initiative - and be proactive• Enthusiastic, dedicated, hardworking and committed to meeting deadlines• Thorough approach to completing tasks• Team-oriented, willing to help out across the team and calm even when under pressure
