We are an internationally recognized, Emmy Award®-winning studio – in two prominent Canadian cities, Vancouver and Kelowna – and the creative force behind top audience hits such as The Dragon Prince, Rick and Morty, Teen Titans Go!, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. 

We are searching for a dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our Vancouver studio team. Reporting to the VP of Technology and Lead Desktop Support Technician, you will work with our technology team to support and maintain our in-house computer systems and desktops across our studio locations while supporting both on-site and remote employees.   

What you will be doing: 

  • Monitor service desk queues, solve issues, and escalate trouble tickets to ensure problems are handled expeditiously. Proactively escalate tasks to senior staff, as required 
  • Set-up, support and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software for production staff and artists. This includes remote support for staff who are working remotely 
  • Work alongside senior staff to advance the state and stability of Bardel's IT infrastructure 
  • Under the supervision of senior technology team members, develop skills for system and network administration, with a particular focus on desktop hardware and 2D & 3D application software support 
  • Additional duties as requested 

  

What you bring with you: 

  • Prior desktop support experience in a VFX, Animation, Gaming or other creative environment preferred 
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 and Active Directory 
  • Knowledge of Linux (RHEL especially) and OSX is advantageous 
  • Knowledge of remote work software/hardware such as Teradici, TGX is a plus but not required 
  • Excellent documentation skills 
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.  Particular emphasis in communicating with both on-site and remote staff 
  • Ability to work successfully in a collaborative, team-based environment that is fast-paced and high volume 
  • Continued development of skills with new technology 
  • Passionate about holding oneself to high standards of work quality 
  • Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs

  • Available for on-call rotations and flexible hours within the team 

Annual Salary Range $55,000 - $60,000 CAD - The Salary Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.
