Field Service Engineer - New York

Sartorius is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our New York team! The ideal candidate must reside in the New York area or be willing to relocate to the New York area.

What you will accomplish together with us:

• Provide exceptional customer care
• Build positive relationships with customers
• Provide technical support to customers
• Tie workflow to schedule to minimize unnecessary travel
• Travel to customers by ground, train, and air transportation as needed
• Provide training to customers on the essential use and operation of Bio Analytics instruments
• Perform field service, calibration, and installation of complex mechanical systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and field sterilizations
• Perform software updates/upgrades
• Assist with resolving IT issues related to Bio Analytics system installations. Follow all company's procedures and protocols
• Assist in drafting documentation of process and procedure as required
• Keep accurate records via written and paper form
• Produce timely, accurate, and detailed service reports
• Keep an accurate count of parts assigned to the engineer
• Prepare customer-facing estimates of repairs
• Pass along identified leads to the sales manager
• Travel to our Ann Arbor, MI, Albuquerque, NM, Fremont, CA, and additional facilities and sites for training and conferences as needed
• Lift items that weigh up to 35 Kg
• Up to 25% overnight travel.
• All other duties as assigned by management

What will convince us:

• Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering, biomechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field preferred
• Associates Degree or certifications in engineering or military training and 5+ years of proven field service experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment with excellent mechanical, electrical, and IT skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
• Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
• Excellent driving record

Base salary offered for the position in Colorado/NYC/CA is $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 depending on experience. (Higher starting salaries may be available in other locations based on geographic differentials.)
