Your Role at Baxter
The Senior Production Planner is responsible for aligning manufacturing resources and available components with customer demand to enhance on time shipping, minimize inventory, and optimize manufacturing efficiencies. The Senior Planner must evaluate material and labor shortages in a timely manner and call out any bottlenecks that may arise. This role is also responsible for supervising inventory levels, resolving cycle count issues, releasing production orders as needed, coordinating engineering builds and providing status updates to management. This individual will play a key role within the supply chain to use their knowledge of planning and inventory management, lean manufacturing concepts and techniques (e.g., Kanban), and ERP software to ensure Baxter customer orders are delivered accurately and according to schedule.
What You'll Be Doing
• Work closely with the Purchasing, Procurement/Commodity Management, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Production, Sales Coordinators, Quality Assurance, and other departments to maintain production efficiency and quality and comply with our ISO 9001 13485 Quality System standards.
• Identify, communicate and supervise supply constraints. Review component material requirements and escalate shortages.
• Develop and execute production schedules for finished goods and component parts to meet customer order requirements; set Kanban quantities and maintain Kanban system in SAP.
• Build Production Orders as required to meet schedule.
• Evaluate planning elements (e.g. lead-time, safety stock, days’ supply) for production parts.
• Propose operational changes to the Materials Manager to improve efficiency, eliminate wasteful processes and to reduce cost (e.g. methods of planning, managing labor capacity, forecast, etc.) through continuous improvement projects.
What You'll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field required.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a production planner.
• Supply Chain experience as a planner. Regulated industry including medical devices, automotive or aerospace is helpful.
• MRP skills sufficient to modify and maintain planning parameters (lead time, safety stock, Kanban quantities, etc.) to achieve high material availability while minimizing inventory and manufacturing costs.
• Working knowledge of Inventory Control principles and techniques.
• Strong analytical capabilities and effective communication to influence change as well as with both internal and external customers at all levels of management.
• A power user of Excel (pivot tables, macros) sufficient to convert data on historical usage, actual/forecasted demand, and scheduled/projected receipts into actionable information on material availability, projected inventory and projected gaps in supply, develop clear and concise, easy to follow presentations that illustrate required information to broad audiences.
• Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system to execute the planning functions.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 - $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
