Field CTO

This critical role involves spearheading the implementation of BedRock Ultra across a diverse array of customers, driving expansion in cloud, container, and AI environments. Plays a pivotal leadership role at BedRock, integrating our technology and platform to define product market fit, streamline/accelerate customer integration and deployment, and align with customer goals and priorities for our product roadmap and engineering efforts.

Location options: U.S.-based- Virginia, Maryland, D.C., or Boston preferred

Responsibilities:

Outbound:  Evangelize and be part of sales/customer meetings. Offer technical advice and insight.

• Identify and offer strategic guidance on how to capitalize on opportunities to optimize cloud consumption for potential customers using BedRock Ultra

• Create and deliver public content on successful case studies, technical architecture, and business value

Product and Marketing:  Provide direction and actionable feedback on product direction and features, as well as positioning and marketing.

• Partner with marketing to support and weigh in on product announcements

• Provide feedback from prospect and customer meetings to product and engineering teams

• Build and present high-level designs and solution adoption roadmaps to customers

• Own activities and communications for follow-ups and strategic decisions

• Guides and creates the development of white-papers and other high-value, customer facing guidance and best practices

Ensure Success: End–to-end support for ensuring customer deployments and identifying items for continually improving the BR product platform

• Engage closely with project stakeholders to understand requirements, present implementation and delivery plans, and solicit valuable feedback

• Provide expert technical guidance in customer interactions, addressing both data architecture and system engineering concerns

• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and development teams to integrate BedRock Ultra into overall system architectures, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones.

Technical Chops:  Be technical enough to drive in and get to the bottom of complex system issues.

• Networks, cloud-native services, infrastructure, and privileges for development teams.

• Resolve intricate performance, security, and technical challenges to ensure seamless operations.

• Develop and refine cloud environment configurations, with a focus on AWS, covering a wide range of components including AWS Accounts, IAM Users and Roles, VPCs, subnets, load balancers, Network routes, Transit Gateway, Control Tower, Systems Manager, Config Manager, stack sets, WAF, CloudFront, and Route53.

• Architect comprehensive enterprise cloud systems that seamlessly integrate edge devices, orchestrate data flows, and ensure information federation using BedRock Ultra for enhanced security.

• Employ consultative skills to identify and diagnose customer pain points, offering innovative solutions that leverage and extend the capabilities of BedRock Ultra.

Qualifications:

• Deep experience in container operations and security, and cloud infrastructure

• Willingness and ability to rapidly acquire and apply technical skills to address customer security needs using BedRock Ultra

• Proven experience thriving in a fast-paced startup environment with a collaborative team ethos

• Demonstrated expertise as a systems architect or in a similar role, focusing on Kubernetes, cloud, and cross-platform solutions

• Track record of designing and implementing robust cloud-based security architectures

• Proficiency in eliciting and documenting customer requirements, user stories, and use cases
