Software Engineer, Backend - Data Platform (Big Data Infra)

Benchling is on a mission to unlock the power of biotechnology by providing innovative solutions to the industry. They are looking for a Software Engineer to join their Data Platform team and work on building scalable and extensible data solutions.

Skills

Experience with data analytics and warehouse solutions
Strong knowledge of data processing technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, Spark
Experience in schema design, SQL & Schema registry
Proficiency in scripting language (such as Python)
Experience with deployment and configuration management frameworks

Responsibilities

Build & operate high throughput distributed messaging platform like Kafka/kinesis
Build next generation warehouse and compute platform with scalable data ingress/egress
Define and design data transformations and pipelines for cross-functional datasets
Design and create CI/CD pipelines for platform provisioning
