This role supports the Sales Planning team with distribution of standard reporting, maintenance and updating of existing reports, support on the annual budget process, operating views, monthly forecasting, along with ad hoc projects.Reporting StructureThe Financial Planning Analyst Intern role reports to the Financial Planning Analyst- Advanced as a part of the FP&A Team. There are no direct reports reporting into this role.Responsibilities• Assist in providing business insight and financial support. Your responsibilities may include data analytics, financial modeling, industry/business analysis, creation and/or monitoring of metrics and evaluation against criteria for success.• Assist in developing the annual budgets and periodic financial projects• Assist in performing P&L analysis monthly, quarterly, and yearly and identify risks and opportunities• Contribute to monthly/quarterly financial reporting and analysis including actuals, budgets, forecasts and assist with short/long term planning• Support the preparation of year-over-year analysis for various P&L accounts while identifying potential risks and opportunities• Perform account reconciliations while identifying and communicating variances• Assist with review of contracts for budget and forecast impacts• Establish strong lines of collaboration and coordinate timely and accurate data input with the department• Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports requested by various teamsQualifications• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance• Must be highly analytical and inquisitive with strong organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, and ability to meet monthly deadlines and goals• Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office; proficient in Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word. Financial planning systems a plus.• Excellent organizational, managerial, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, ability to work in a team-based, continuous improvement environment, ability to deal with ambiguity• Knowledge of SAP and/or Business Objects is a plus• Business AcumenCompetencies• Strong customer focus dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external customers• Seen as a team player that encourages collaboration and quickly gains trust and support of peers.
