ABOUT THE TEAM

The engineering team is responsible for all technology for Bestow and the Bestow Platform. We serve employees, consumers, and enterprise customers. As well as building software, we also integrate and manage many third-party products used by employees and as part of the platform. Our major functional teams are product engineering, infrastructure, IT, data & analytics, MarTech, and program management. Engineering works closely with product management and design to define and prioritize the product roadmap.

We are looking to hire several backend engineers for various teams at Bestow. These teams own services utilized for the entire lifecycle of a life insurance policy and build services that manage agent data as part of the application process and tools that enable manual evaluation and auditing during policy underwriting. As we move through the interview process, we'll work with you and our engineering leadership to determine which team you'll join.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will be developing core services primarily using Golang and PostgreSQL

  • We're a startup with a long product roadmap. You will help and accelerate foundational services to scale the output of our product teams.

  • Resolve issues with previously delivered features.

  • Write unit and integration tests for code you create.

  • Peer review code developed by others on your team.

  • Ensure software is secure, maintainable.

  • Work with designers, product managers, and other engineers

  • Encourage automation and continuous improvement.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 8+ years of professional software development experience (backend)

  • Professional experience with Golang (Go) is preferred

  • Experience using Docker for local software development.

  • An advocate for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)

  • Experience with distributed systems or microservices.

  • Experience designing APIs (Protocol Buffers, RAML, Swagger, OpenAPI, etc,)
