What and how you will work:

This is a national role and can be performed from anywhere in Australia. The majority of the development team are located in Adelaide, so some travel will be required if not located in Adelaide.

Job Description

The Technology Platforms Owner is responsible for managing IT operations and critical third-party services across the Bank. They handle feature development, testing, and support for various banking systems, while also engaging with business units to influence product roadmaps and optimise vendor relationships. Additionally, they ensure proper governance and SLA management in collaboration with legal and procurement teams.

  • Champion performance by setting ambitious goals for vendors and team members, and taking decisive action to achieve business objectives.
  • Make smart moves by interpreting financial indicators to inform better business decisions.
  • Elevate our IT by managing and implementing system upgrades that align with our strategic direction.

Qualifications

About you

The ideal candidate for this role is a strategic thinker with a knack for innovation and a strong background in IT operations. They are adept at managing budgets, leading teams, and fostering vendor relationships. Key traits include excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to drive performance and strategic alignment.

  • Veteran Leader: Over 10 years of experience managing third-party or managed services providers.
  • Banking Pro: Over 10 years of experience in banking, financial services, or software account management.
  • Strategic Visionary: Over 10 years of leadership in strategy, budgeting, supply/demand planning, and people leadership.
  • Tech Guru: Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, ITIL, DevOps, and risk management/regulatory compliance.
  • Operations Maestro: Proven IT operations management experience.
  • Commercial Savvy: Strong commercial acumen with a knack for analysing cost vs. risk trade-offs.
  • Influential Communicator: Excellent stakeholder influence, communication, and advanced contract negotiation skills, with a focus on operational risk and people leadership.
