The Opportunity
We are looking for a Looker Developer to join our growing team as we enter a new phase of expansion. In this role, you will play a crucial role in implementing, improving, and maintaining Getaround’s Looker environment. This includes partnering and consulting with business teams to provide guidance and assistance in creating and streamlining Looker reports. As part of the BI team, you’ll help develop and lead trainings to communicate best practices, and you’ll co-host office hours to provide direct assistance. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a motivation to influence the future of mobility through dynamic visualization and reporting.
What You'll Do
Be an internal expert in Looker dashboard development to support the company through a growth phase as we integrate multiple sources of data into unified dashboards
Working from data sources and user requirements to design and build new dashboards
Support best practice dashboard design, visualizations, user management, and documentation
Partner with internal data architects to create new LookML models, looks and dashboards
Use Looker to create a metadata repository (LookML), including proper field documentation and explore joins
What You'll Bring
4+ years’ experience in analytics and/or BI tool support, building dashboards and evaluating data
1+ years developing in Looker as your primary job function on a BI team
Skilled in building visualizations in Looker, including strong LookML coding skills
Experience with Liquid (or another templating language) and LookML extensions or refinements
Understanding of source data optimization for Looker processing
Experience in data analytics or related quantitative field; understand the basics of data analysis, data manipulation, and seeing the relationships between different data sources
Understanding of relational database design and basic data warehousing concepts
Knowledge of best practices for dashboard design
Strong proficiency in SQL, preferably in BigQuery
Experience with ETL tools, such as DBT or Looker PDTs
Strong written and oral communication skills, must be able to explain data and dashboards to an audience with a variety of technical skills
Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment, and take ownership of responsibilities
Experience with Git or other version control system preferred
Ability to effectively use communication tools to work within a team that work remotely
Mindset to continuously learn and develop
Experience managing project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in a methodical and structured way
Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities, including ad hoc requests
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of accountability, and attention to detail
Additional awesomeness
Experience with any part of our data stack: Stitch, Segment, Python, Airflow, BigQuery, dbt, Looker, Google Analytics, and git
Supported teams that work on quick release and testing cycles
Worked with Atlassian tools before (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
