Billing Coordinator

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$75k – $90k

Position Overview:

As a Billing Coordinator – Legal, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the billing process and performing complex billing duties. The Billing Coordinator – Legal will also maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys, and staff at all times using discretion, tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.

Responsibilities of the Billing Coordinator – Legal:

  • Acting as a liaison between billing attorneys and billing secretaries, legal attorneys, and/or organization (customers) and the billing staff, and responding to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
  • Preparing and analyzing complex client billing
  • Communicating with customers to ensure their requests from the billing staff are being met and updating customers on status of tasks and/or projects
  • Providing accurate and timely completion of assignments and inquiry responses and ensuring that all tasks and duties completed are done within the firm’s set guidelines and policies
  • Generating and reviewing proformas from Elite (pre-existing or generating new charges)

Qualifications for the Billing Coordinator – Legal:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in general accounting practices. Knowledge of basic accounting principles is required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in area involving billing processes and practices. Prior experience with Elite Billing system is preferred
  • Possess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus
  • Display thorough knowledge of bookkeeping procedures such as posting, balancing, debits and credits, and journal entries

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
