About this role

The Medical Director is a critical part of North America Medical Affairs Neuropsychiatry team, a strategic partner within Biogen, that builds evidence generation plans (Real World Evidence and HEOR) aligned with overall product and medical strategies. As a key member of the US Neuropsychiatry Medical Director's office (MDO) team that reports to the Head of North America Medical, Neuropsychiatry, the Medical Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional committees to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance of both internal and external data generation protocols, publications and educational materials.  Biogen’s priority is to continue to foster and enable a diverse and inclusive workforce – representing age, gender, sexual identity, race, ethnicity, Veterans, and people with disabilities – that reflects the communities where we operate and the patients who we serve.

What You Will Do

·       Be a credible scientific expert who is accountable as a primary Neuropsychiatry medical representative who provides scientific expertise in post partem depression to ensure consistency of therapeutic area data generation planning and communication per established standards

·       Engage with cross-functional partners (Legal/Compliance, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial) from the US Medical perspective to ensure content is medically accurate, compliant, adequately resourced and aligned with medical strategy

·       Provide scientific input into the development of medical and commercial data generation strategy

·       Maintain a comprehensive understanding of disease area, product information and data, regulatory guidelines and industry best practices

·       Supports project planning for medical tactics and facilitates activities for content development, as needed

·       Coordinate & implement initiatives for the Neuropsychiatry US Medical Team, as needed

Who You Are

You are a scientific or clinical professional with a passion for science and deep scientific knowledge. You have a talent for paying attention to details and enjoy supporting activities around data generation (HEOR and RWE) for internal and external resources i.e. presentations, medical training, Advisory boards. You keep patients, payers, and physicians top of mind in your daily work and collaborate to solve critical scientific and business challenges.

Qualifications

Required skills

·       PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP, Nurse/ANP or other advanced degree in the life sciences.

·       Minimum 6 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry required.  Relevant experience with data generation in Medical Affairs is strongly preferred.

·       Excellent communication (particularly both written and oral) to include presentation skills.

·       Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively operate and influence within a highly matrixed organization.

·       Solid project management skills to include the ability to take initiative to solve complex and challenging problems.

Preferred and Therapeutic Area Skills

·       Clinical experience as a subject matter expert in the respective area is optimal.

·       Experience with Psychiatry is a plus.
