The Sr. Director of Data Science and Clinical Intelligence will be responsible for planning and execution of the company’s strategy for clinical, technical and operational data products.  They will lead an exceptional group responsible for conducting analyses, developing algorithms, and synthesizing data from multiple rich data sources, both internal and external to the company.  This is a high visibility role within the engineering organization, working cross-functionally to create clinical intelligence applications, analytical products, and driving internal innovation with the company’s rich data sources.


What you will be doing
  • Collaborate with executive team, cross-functional leaders, and key customers to align data science initiatives with overall business objectives
  • Lead (and continue to build) a world-class data science team, focusing on team output, goal alignment, and tactical execution of key projects
  • Scope and develop new data-driven clinical algorithms to detect signs of early deterioration in patients
  • Define and lead analyses that demonstrate the company’s ability to improve patient outcomes, increase clinician efficiency, and decrease healthcare costs
  • Deploy and monitor packaged algorithms in production systems, ensuring real-world performance is as expected
  • Support regulatory clearances for new products, and ensure that proper documentation is maintained throughout all stages of development
  • Engage with product, regulatory, and program management functions to understand key requirements and communicate progress towards milestones


What you need
  • MS or PhD in statistics, bioinformatics, computer science, engineering or related field and  3+ years of management experience
  • 4+ years of work experience as a data scientist, preferably in healthcare settings
  • Familiarity with traditional healthcare data streams such as ICD-10 diagnosis codes and other electronic medical record information
  • Strong coding skills in Python
  • Strong experience working with cloud platforms and technology stacks (AWS and Databricks preferred)
  • Broad knowledge of data technologies and processes: Cloud, Unstructured, Big Data, MDM, Data Quality, ETL
  • Proven track record driving complex projects from initiation to completion
  • Exceptional communication skills, including interfacing with external stakeholders and presenting to executive leaders
  • Ability to work in fast-paced startup environment


$180,000 - $215,000 a year
