About The Role


BioIntelliSense is hiring a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for handling the Accounting Manager’s daily tasks including the monthly close duties, journal entries, account reconciliations and projects while allowing the candidate to expand the role into many other areas of corporate accounting. Developing positive cross functional relationships and new processes will be critical to success. Candidates will have a successful track record in setting priorities with excellent analytic, organization, and communication skills.


What You'll Be Doing
  • General Ledger Management: Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger by preparing and entering journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Accounts Payable: Process and reconcile accounts payable, ensuring timely payments.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations by comparing the company’s records with bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are completed on time and discrepancies are addressed.
  • Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring adherence to company policies and proper documentation.
  • Fixed Assets: Track and manage fixed assets, including recording depreciation and asset disposals.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Journal Entries: Ensure all assigned journal entries are booked monthly including prepaids, amortization schedules, finance and operating leases.
  • Year-End Reporting: Process and send out 1099s.


What You Need
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite preferred but not required); Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs and other functions); Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when preparing financial data.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with the accounting team and other departments.
  • Integrity: Strong sense of ethics and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines, particularly during month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Problem Solving: Capacity to analyze financial data and provide solutions to discrepancies or issues.
  • Growth: Significant opportunity to expand role beyond current responsibilities. While learning all aspects of back office corporate accounting functions. 


$60,000 - $70,000 a year
Salary Expectations: Listed comp is total compensation and is based on experience
Work Location: Hybrid work schedule - 2 days in Golden, CO office per week to start. Could move to 1 day per week after training and knowledge has been transferred. 
Travel Requirement: Must be willing/ able to travel up to 35-50% as needed
