Blade Utility Operator - 1st Shift

The Blade Utility Operator at Husqvarna Construction Division is responsible for utilizing tooling, equipment, and materials to support blade assembly operations by performing task that are auxiliary operations to segment, OD grinding, brazing and finishing of diamond blades.

Shift: 1st

Job Responsibilities:

Loading segments into radius grinder. Washing cores for prep before and after assembly. Sandblasting cores to prep for brazing. Assist loading of fixtures on manual lasers. General material handling to move blades between workstations. Assist loading of large diameter cores greater than 18 inches on all machines. Loading and sharpening blades on all grinders. Marking blades with laser marking machine. Polishing and masking blades for finishing prep. Hanging and removal of blades from the paint line.

Machinery:

Organization and selection of proper tooling to fulfill work requirements. Maintain general knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment operation. Cleaning of equipment for preparation of subsequent orders.

Measurements:

Perform visual in-process quality checks for cosmetic appearance of the blades and marking information. Record quality and order completion data. Evaluate and confer with Quality Control on manufacturing process inspection techniques and standards. Use of micrometer and caliper for accurate measurement.

Functional Skills and Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of math.
• Working knowledge of the metric system of weights and measurements.
• Working knowledge of diamond tool design elements.
• Ability to lift, push/pull and stand for long periods of time.
• Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally push/pull up to 20 lbs.
