The Davis Language Center (DLC) provides instructional support and facilities for foreign language programs at UCD. The DLC mission is to: promote language learning and language use; foster second language acquisition research on learning and teaching; support professional development of language instructors; enhance and support language learning and teaching.
DLC facilities consists of a computer lab classroom with a digital speaking/listening lab system, three active learning classrooms/spaces, and tutoring room. The DLC lends specialized materials, conducts computerized adaptive and non-computerized foreign language placement and proficiency examinations, streams online course materials, provides local language applications, hosts various events/workshops, assists with the creation of course software, customizes applications for teaching and learning, and supports language and technology endeavors by students and faculty.
