AIX/Linux Systems Engineer

We are now looking for an experienced AIX/Linux Systems Engineer with strong technical skills and solid working experience to work in new challenging projects.
You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competence, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. Qualified IBM AIX/Linux systems engineers will have a background with at least five years of experience.
The primary role will be supporting Red Hat Linux and AIX Unix servers along with third-party software. Secondary responsibilities will include support for Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat IDM and various client software installed in Unix Machines (TSM client, BMC client, etc).
Duties will include user provisioning and auditing, system security, provisioning of new servers, patch management, system monitoring, application software installation, OS and Application problems troubleshooting, while maintaining system availability. Job will expand to include performance tuning (including cpu/memory, subsystems, etc.), as well as the building and design of new systems. Experience with hardware and software data replication techniques, disaster recovery operations, and enterprise storage area networks is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor Red Hat Linux and IBM AIX systems.
- Install, configure, test and maintain AIX and Red Hat Linux and system management tools.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Maintain optimum performance, security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Participate in the design and documentation of information and operational support systems and provide relative project documentation.
- Ensure systems security compliance status with the use of oscap tools.
- Monitor the update status of the systems and schedule patch management activities across the bank infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of user provisioning and auditing, system security, tcp/ip with at least five years experience.
- Understanding of enterprise SAN technologies and disaster recovery principles desired.
- Scripting skills (bash shell, aix shell, python etc).
- Fluent knowledge of ansible automation solution.
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent knowledge of the English and Greek language.
- Experience on using Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat IDM and Red Hat Automation platform.
- Experience of using IBM HMC and configuring and maintaining IBM Power systems.
- Red Hat and IBM certifications are desired.
