This position is responsible for partnering to drive business outcomes with the supervisors, managers, and directors within the Legal, Finance, and Enterprise Services divisions. The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a trusted advisor in developing, managing, implementing and integrating HR programs and guidelines to support the client’s business objectives and maximize organizational optimization. The HRBP will utilize business acumen to advance organizational performance in areas such as employment, performance management, and career development. A Day in the Life: • Develops strong business relationships with leadership. • Within designated client groups, helps create a forward-thinking strategy that diagnoses, connects, and deploys team capabilities, and collaborates with customer groups on operational strategies to improve business performance through people. • Align team structures to effectively drive enterprise strategy by partnering with leaders on intentional organizational design. • Demonstrates knowledge of the business and delivery of services to each division to drive outstanding performance and partner on change management initiatives. • Provides advice and guidance on various topics including performance management, talent management, succession, compensation, coaching, and talent reviews, etc. • Partners with HR centers of excellence to build management capability to develop individuals and teams and facilitate an inclusive environment that reflects Blue Cross values. • Supports business through organization changes and development as needed. • Establishes effective partnerships with business leaders to influence talent decisions by providing tailored advice and using expertise for business needs. • Drives informed decision-making by using data to identify trends and works to determine root cause of issues and develop effective solutions. • Remains current with changes in employment law. Nice to Have: • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. • PHR/SPHR preferred. • Insurance company or healthcare experience preferred. • HR experience working with supervisors, managers, and Directors. • Experience in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities. • Previous organizational development experience highly desirable. • Experience working in a center of excellence, matrixed environment. • Workday experience. Required Skills and Experiences: • 3+ years of progressive related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered. • Previous experience supporting business units and shared services. • Proven ability to collaborate well with entry and mid-level leadership to develop, design and implement relevant strategic HR strategies that align to the business in conjunction with senior HRBP leadership. • Demonstrated competency in strategic business partnership, change management, coaching and consultation, development and execution of talent strategies, and championing diversity and inclusion. • Ability to use data & analytics to generate insights and present findings to the business. • Business Acuity – understands and supports organization’s vision and strategy. Understands the implications of decisions, demonstrates knowledge of environment, and aligns work with strategic goals. • Experience in influencing and building relationships • Strong communication skills – ability to articulate a variety of issues to different audiences and tailor the messages. • Collaborative work style. Understands the necessity to gain partnership and agreement. Encourages trust among colleagues. • Demonstrates ability to respond to changing and sometime ambiguous situations. • Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external) using feedback to modify thinking, improve processes and solutions.
