Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origins vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a small hardworking and inclusive team of engineers, you will be responsible for cradle-to-grave ownership of structural components and assemblies on the New Glenn second stage. You will share in the teams impact on all aspects of New Glenn. This is a hands-on position and in this role you will take ownership of designs from concept through launch, perform initial sizing and detailed analysis, and work directly with our manufacturing teams to ensure successful hardware integration. Your unique skills will complement a close-knit, highly collaborative team that values diverse perspectives from a wide range of backgrounds.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to build the road to space. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities include:Design, analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary structures, including composites and metallic piece parts, as well as integrated structural assembliesCreate 3D models, detail part drawings, assemblies, installations, and interface control documentsCoordinate with other subsystem teams on the design of structural interfacesProvide on-site manufacturing and production support, including travel when needed.Support configuration development and trade studiesApply practical approaches to hardware fabrication and cost impactsCreate test plans, specifications, and other documentation for the development of flight hardwareWork with multi-functional teams that are responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to produce world class aerospace hardwareQualifications:B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering3+ years of experience with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structuresAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:Experience on recently developed aircraft or launch vehicles in one or more of the following areas:Structural design of metallic components and assembliesVehicle load path distribution, and first order strength assessment and sizingMaterial selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniquesStrong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.Familiar with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5)Ability to rapidly apply structural mechanics principles and development designs using hand calculations and finite element analysisExperience with rapid development techniques for hardwareExperience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10Familiarity with classical hand analysis methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roarks ect.)Familiarity with analysis codes: Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct, Abaqus, HyperMesh, HypersizerCompensation range for on site WA applicants is $89,820-$125,748Other site ranges may differInclusivity StatementDont meet all desired requirements?
