Biomedical Technician / Equipment Support Specialist - Level I
Blue Water Thinking is looking for a Biomedical Equipment Technician to ensure the reliability, functionality, and safety of medical equipment at the VA. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Skills
- Technical background in biomedical equipment
- Problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of medical device security protocols
- Experience with software repairs on medical devices
- Strong record-keeping skills
- Ability to provide technical support and training
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on medical equipment
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in medical devices
- Conduct incoming inspections of new medical equipment
- Implement and maintain medical device security protocols
- Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment
- Conduct electrical safety inspections
- Address hazard and safety recalls related to medical equipment
- Perform software repairs and updates on medical devices
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
- Provide technical support and training to medical staff
Education
- Two-year associate degree in an applied science or equivalent military training
