Job Summary:
As an Acquisition Marketing Analyst at Boatsetter, you will play a critical role in helping the company to achieve its marketing goals. Your expertise in data analysis will allow you to understand the performance of our offsite marketing channels and collaborate with the marketing team to measure and optimize those channels. By harnessing the power of data, you will empower the company to make informed strategic decisions about our acquisition marketing campaigns and projects. You will work in tight-knit collaboration with the marketing team to enhance the experience for our users, and ultimately drive growth and success for Boatsetter. You will report directly to the VP of Analytics, and act as a key individual contributor within the broader data team.
Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Insights: Utilize data from various sources, including impression and cost data from external marketing channels, internal transaction data, and behavioral event data to derive actionable insights for enhancing our marketing programs. Undertake custom investigations within the data to derive valuable insights and answer critical marketing questions.
KPI Monitoring and Reporting: Work in close partnership with the marketing team to establish, maintain and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Regularly track and report on these metrics, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Connect these KPIs to the broader business context and business model to contextualize the impact of product changes on the business. Understand how these KPIs relate to the financial performance of the company, and collaborate with FP&A and marketing teams to help plan and execute against marketing budgets.
Sizing, Experimentation and Testing: Work with the marketing team to evaluate the performance of our marketing efforts, using incrementality testing, A/B testing, or other testing methodologies to gain insight and help informed decision making. Help to identify and plan appropriate testing to meet KPI targets.
Attribution: Manage the marketing attribution models used for internal data sets. Propose changes or refinements to those models in collaboration with the marketing team to enhance our tracking and understanding of our multi-touch customer lifecycle.
Marketing data technology: Understand and collaborate on the technology being used at Boatsetter to manage our marketing spend, engage with our customers on an on-going basis, and other related marketing functions.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with marketing (as well as Product, Engineering, Design and other stakeholders) to understand business objectives and align marketing analytics initiatives accordingly. Present findings to key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Collaborate with the marketing team to produce high quality data to allow monitoring and successive improvement of the Boatsetter marketing program.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in acquisition marketing analytics with a strong background in Google, Meta and other paid channels, preferably in a fast-paced tech startup or growth-stage company.
Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL. Some knowledge of Python/R, or similar tools for data extraction and analysis is a bonus. Strong ability to work with large datasets and draw actionable insights from complex data. Expertise with a range of marketing data tools is highly desirable.
Business Mindset: Demonstrated experience in contributing to marketing measurement and strategy by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations. Familiarity with A/B, incrementality and other testing methodologies. Experience planning and conducting experiments, and interpreting results with statistical rigor.
Data Visualization: Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, Power BI, or similar, as well as Excel/Google sheets to create clear and compelling visualizations. Highly developed report producing skills and the ability to to effectively communicate complex data insights to stakeholders, including product teams and management.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present findings and context to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Collaboration: Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and foster a data-driven culture.
Passion for Boating: While not a strict requirement, a genuine interest in boating or the maritime industry is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in data analytics or a similar field are desirable.
