The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Lead Test and Evaluation Engineer located in Berkeley, MO or Las Vegas, NV.
The selected candidate will be responsible for test planning and execution in support of a proprietary activity within Boeing Phantom Works. As a Lead Test and Evaluation Engineer in the test conductor role, you will lead test teams in the safe, efficient, and effective performance of ground and flight tests by partnering with subject matter experts. Test and evaluation engineers use their detailed knowledge of test techniques and depth of knowledge you will receive on the systems under test to optimally and safely document, conduct, and report on sophisticated and multifaceted tests. You will advise the test participants, from pre-briefing, to testing, and through debriefing, in order to capture the data needed to satisfy customer requirements. The test and evaluation engineer is a key communicator, providing status, informative briefings, data, procedures, and reports.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Level 4 and Level 5 Lead Test and Evaluation Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
• Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity
• Develop detailed test procedures and defines instrumentation /configuration requirements needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
• Develop test plans and test cards
• Incorporate lessons learned into future test activities
• Guide others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
• Oversee debriefing of the test team
• Prepare and publish test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
• Present test results internally
• Document operating limitations
• Review and recommend changes to technical publications
• Support test readiness reviews and safety review boards
• Coordinate and present at test planning working group meetings
• Responsible for training new test conductors and flight test engineers
• Works under minimal direction
This position is a domestic temporary assignment (DTA) located in Las Vegas, NV. The candidate will be provided a DTA (Domestic Temporary Assignment) benefits package as applicable. This position and the candidate selected will be required to work onsite at Las Vegas, NV assigned work location and will be based in Berkeley, MO or Las Vegas, NV upon completion of assignment.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). With ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 3+ years of experience in complex test planning, development, and execution
• 3+ years of engineering experience in ground and/or flight test environments
• 3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
• 5+ years of experience as a Test Conductor, Test Director and Lead Verification Engineer
• Able to work off shift assignments
• (Level 5): 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Typical Education/Experience:
(Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
(Level 5)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range (lead 4): 113,900 – 164,450
Summary pay range (lead 5): 136,000 – 196,650
