Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Phantom Works Systems Engineering and Integration Team in Berkeley, MO or Hazelwood, MO to lead the evaluation and integration of model based systems engineering solution kits into our Phantom Works (PW) proprietary programs. The selected candidate will support the PW Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team in providing cross-program model-based systems engineering solutions. They will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and systems engineers across the division to evaluate the available systems engineering solution kits, tailor as needed for PW integration, and ensure consistent implementation across PW programs, while embracing the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering strategy.

The ability to work and lead in a collaborative team environment on-site and across engineering disciplines will be imperative to this role. The selected individual will work in a fast paced, innovative environment where excellent technical, organizational, leadership, written, and verbal communications skills are essential.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Lead and Senior Systems Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the cross-functional engineering teams in evaluating existing model based systems engineering solution kits and recommending tailoring for integration with PW programs’ existing architectures

  • Identify and manage tasking for the team of systems engineering and specialty engineering leads

  • Identify gaps in existing model based systems engineering solution kits and prioritize filling them with solution kit owners

  • Leverage Systems Engineering and MBSE experience to implement, maintain, and refine the MBSE approach

  • Support the implementation of the tailored solution kits onto the programs

  • Represent the effort in Phantom Works cross-program workshops to align with and contribute to the common PW MBSE approach

  • Support Internal Research and Development efforts to expand the MBSE capability within Phantom Works

  • Mentor, coach and advise less experienced systems engineers in SE tools, techniques, planning and strategy, serving as a Technical Lead Engineer for the PW-MBSE team

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or Internationally depending on business needs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • (Level 4) 9+ years of work related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s or 7+ years of work related engineering experience with a Master’s or 4+ years of work related engineering experience with a PhD

  • (Level 5) 14+ years of work related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s or 12+ years of work related engineering experience with a Master’s or 9+ years of work related engineering experience with a PhD

  • 2+ years’ experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO/MSOSA or similar Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compatible tool for systems architecture and model development

  • Experience leading cross-IPT architecture development

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range (Lead, Level 4): $119,850 - $162,150

Summary pay range (Senior, Level 5): $147,050 - $198,950
