Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Escape Systems Engineer to join one of Air Dominance’s Proprietary programs located in Hazelwood, MO.

The Engineer joining the team will be part of a high-performing, cross-functional team building next generation, state-of-the-art capability while supporting the integration of program, customer and product to drive successful execution of the program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the team through the analysis, design, development, integration and test of the Escape System Architecture on the weapon system.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Level 4 or 5 Senior Escape Systems Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, development, integration, and system performance of Escape Systems including but not limited to energetic devices, ejection seats, and transparencies.

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify escape system architectures and individual components

  • Lead to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system and component level performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical and functional interfaces

  • Manage major suppliers

  • Mentor junior and mid-career engineers

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • (Level 4) 9+ years of work related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s or 7+ years of work related engineering experience with a Master’s or 4+ years of work related engineering experience with a PhD

  • (Level 5) 14+ years of work related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s or 12+ years of work related engineering experience with a Master’s or 9+ years of work related engineering experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in military aircraft design

  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft escape/egress systems and/or energetic devices

  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft and component level requirements

  • Experience in Critical Safety Systems

  • Experience in component qualification programs

  • Experience in ejection / escape system component and/or sled testing

  • Experience in project estimating and scheduling

  • Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification of Escape Systems (e.g., ASME, MILSPEC)

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range (Level 4): $119,850 - $162,150

Summary pay range (Level 5): $147,050 - $198,950

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
