Manages bond production and underwriting activities within assigned territory. Oversees the acceptance, declination and rating of risks while meeting profitability goals. Establishes and develops agency relationships for new marketing opportunities in all bond product lines.

1. Markets bond business to agency force and establish and develop solid agency relationships. Mediates issues between agents, insured’s, and other departments. Provides exceptional customer service.

2. Evaluates new and renewal business submissions within delegated authority levels and, where appropriate, develops and presents underwriting recommendations on business that exceeds delegated authority to Regional Bond Manager.

3. Ensures accurate and quality work while maintaining high production standards.

4. Monitors territory’s profitability goals and keeps abreast of current market conditions that affect business levels.

5. Utilizes bond system automation and enhancements to improve efficiencies within assigned territory.

6. Educates and assists AMS staff with bond production to produce cross-sell opportunities and new leverage points with agency plant.

7. Work with RBM to assist in developing agency, territory and region goals. Support strategic and tactical efforts to grow premium profitably.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Broad knowledge of surety & fidelity underwriting environment.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers/peers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• College degree in financial-related area such as accounting, finance, business administration, or marketing preferred.
• 5-7 years of bond underwriting experience preferred.
• AU and/or CPCU encouraged.
• AFSB preferred.

Salary range: $92,400.00 - $152,600.00. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate's qualifications and experience.
