HR Generalist II

The HR Generalist II position is responsible for the day-to-day processing and administration of various HR

processes and tasks to support the general business and employee needs.


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Works with managers and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Leads 3rd party and complex internal investigations and other employee relations matters as needed via an open-door policy.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., completing performance reviews and disciplinary actions).
  • Manages unemployment claims and hearings, worker's compensation and OSHA filings.
  • Works closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity.
  • Ensure the business maintains compliance with regulatory federal, state, and local labor laws regarding multi-state compliance. This includes, but is not limited to EEO, Affirmative Action Plan, DOL, FMLA, ADAA, ACA, FLSA, ADEA, NLRA, ADEA, PDA, OSHA, HIPAA, FCRA, and Immigration Reform and Control Act.
  • Maintains handbook, HR policy management, interpretation, and departmental SOP development in conjunction with HR Director
  • Assist in the completion of EEO-1, ACA and other regulatory and compliance reporting.


Provide day-to-day HR operations assistance relating to:
  • Processing offer letters, new hire paperwork & I-9
  • New hire benefit processing, open enrollment & general benefit questions, and administration
  • Offboarding exit processing and COBRA administration
  • PTO, time and attendance, employee leave administration
  • Employee records and HR data management
  • General reporting and data request


Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as an advisor to supervisors and managers in the areas of HR administration, benefits, compliance, and employee relations.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Tech savvy individual experience working in HRIS and ATS systems (Preferability ADP), Google and Microsoft Suite of Products.


Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple human resource operations including but not limited to employee relations and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced, hands-on environment.
  • Experience in multi-state, home services and/or field operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and multi-state respective employment laws.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience,
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.


Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift >= 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% of the time as needed to field locations.
