We have an Oil & Energy client looking for a Credit Analyst to join their team based in Downtown Houston, TX. In this role, you will perform creditworthiness assessments for counterparties, monitor and report credit exposure, and maintain credit controls.Industry: Oil & EnergyWork location: Downtown Houston, TXSchedule: Hybrid (Tue, Wed, Thurs in-office / Mon, Fri WFH)Work Type: W2 Contract-to-hire / Full-time / ExemptExpected Start Date: October 2024Benefits: Medical / Dental / Vision / 401(k) with match / paid parkingSummary/ObjectivePerform creditworthiness assessments for counterparties, monitor and report credit exposure, and maintain credit controls. Responsibilities include managing credit support for a portfolio of counterparties and ensuring key credit terms are tracked.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.• Analyze and interpret financial statements to establish, maintain, or deny credit. Conduct both qualitative and quantitative assessments and provide thorough credit reviews. Recommend credit lines and tenors based on creditworthiness.• Monitor counterparty credit exposure and implement collateral enhancements to mitigate risk.• Maintain credit support such as guaranties, letters of credit, or cash between counterparties.• Identify and report key credit terms in contractual agreements.• Collaborate with commercial, legal, and management teams, providing guidance on credit risks in line with company policies.• Stay informed on industry news and market credit events.• Respond to internal and external credit risk inquiries in a timely manner.• Act as a team player with all employees and comply with company policies and procedures.Competencies• Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment.• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills. Analytical mindset.• Effective verbal and written communication skills.• High level of attendance required.• Proficient in using standard office equipment, including computers and calculators.• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.Preferred Education and Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.• At least two years of experience in wholesale energy credit risk management preferred.
