Business Development Director

Bttr is a digital design studio with a remote team of talented professionals passionate about creating innovative and impactful solutions for our clients. We specialize in designing brands, digital products and websites. We are dedicated to unlocking the business value of design for our clients and are now seeking a visionary Business Development Director to lead the next phase of growth for the business.

In this role you will play a key role in scaling the agency by identifying and securing new business opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a pipeline of leads, building relationships with potential clients, guiding them through the agency’s capabilities and service offerings and leading pitches for new business. This is a strategic role that will require an intelligent approach to developing new business opportunities. The ability to understand a client's business and the problems they need to solve is essential, along with the strategic capability to pitch creative solutions to them that are relevant, believable and buyable - and align to the Bttr capabilities and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Client Acquisition: Identify new business opportunities and prospective clients in various sectors that can benefit from our design services.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement business development strategies to increase market presence, target new markets, and diversify the client base.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build, manage, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and industry partners.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the design and strategy teams to create tailored proposals, pitches, and presentations that effectively communicate the agency’s value proposition.
  • Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor analysis, and emerging markets to inform business development efforts.
  • Revenue Growth: Meet or exceed sales targets by identifying, pursuing, and securing new clients and opportunities.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to increase the agency’s visibility and drive business development.
  • Collaboration with Creative Teams: Work closely with design and project management teams to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
  • CRM Management: Maintain an organized pipeline of leads, prospects, and ongoing business opportunities using the company’s CRM system.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to leadership on progress, pipeline, and business development KPIs.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: 8+ years of business development experience, preferably within the design, creative, or digital marketing industries.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in acquiring new clients and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of design services, creative processes, and the value of branding, UI/UX, and digital design in various industries.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to secure contracts and favorable terms.
  • Networking Ability: Adept at building relationships and leveraging professional networks to generate leads and opportunities.
  • Sales Mindset: Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a target-driven environment.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively with internal teams to deliver on promises.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM software and Google Suite; familiarity with design tools and platforms is a plus.
  • Passion: A passion for design, creativity, and innovation.

Salary + Commission
