Position Summary

The Business Analyst will take ownership of certain systems implementations and process improvement for Berkshire and its affiliates. The Business Analyst will also assist in the general technology function including, managing vendor implementations and relationships, report writing, support, advising the Helpdesk, and being an advocate for technology within our company.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Consistently demonstrate use of tact and discretion.
  • Support the Yardi ecosystem.
    • Interface with accounting, portfolio/asset management for day-to-day requests
    • Work with Operation team on new request and support
    • Be a liaison to Yardi support teams.
  • A key player on various Yardi systems implementations and upgrade projects
    • Ensure that systems are properly implemented and make the most of the available technology.
    • Ensure that policies and procedures are appropriate for the business process.
  • Be a champion for technology.
    • Seek out ways to strategically improve our organization using technology.
    • Look for ways to improve business processes and lower cost for the organization.
  • Understand the needs of the users.
    • Needs for a certain piece of data or in the form of improvements to our existing reporting.
    • Needs for a new software product.
  • Provide a level of training and support for the assigned software packages.
  • Understand the underlying databases that provide the infrastructure for certain software Typically, SQL; does not need to be a developer of SQL but needs some understanding of how it works.
  • Understand basic report writing tools such as YSR and/or PowerBI or be willing to be trained on these products.
  • Understand audit implications with business processes and the importance of compliance and controls.
  • Assist the Assistant Vice President of Information Technology in the role of managing the technology function.
    • Assist with issues that come up through the helpdesk and look for solutions.
    • Recommend technology purchases and improvements.
    • Other tasks and projects assigned by the Senior Vice President of Information Technology
  • Provide excellent customer support to our users. This includes good communication, prompt service and quality results for our users to the extent possible.
