Business Analyst III

The person in this position will analyzes moderately complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Develops use case requirement specifications to meet the business need and provides traceability of those requirements to execute unit, integration and acceptance testing – working with the development team on defect triaging and resolution.

• Develop business relationships across organization and develop domain knowledge of organizational direction, objectives, operations, processes, and associated applications.
• Under the direction of the assigned Project Manager, works on large and medium initiatives to define project scope, identify constraints, dependencies and tasks associated with Requirements Management.
• Provides expertise on a core functional / business area they support.
• Performs analysis and triage issues on applications they support.
• Communicates and assists IT Project Managers and teams across all areas on the best use of business analysis discipline, methodology, tools leveraging industry best practices.
• Translates and documents business requirements into functional requirements by developing use cases and business scenarios to support each identified requirement.
• Works with stakeholders and project team members to prioritize the documented requirements and gain approval.
• Develops process models, specifications, and use case models as needed by the project to provide solutions and direction to the architect, software developers and the project team.
• Maintains and reconcile forward and backward traceability of requirements through quality assurance testing and product acceptance.
• Communicates project changes of requirements according to the established process to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
• Supports business requirements throughout design, development, defect triage, system testing, and implementation to Production and Hyper-care phase.
• On Change Requests (CR), manages CR from inception to implementation providing direct feedback to the PMO leadership and business sponsor.
• Performs Quality Assurance activities as required by the project team under the direction of the project’s Project Manager.

• This position reports to the Business Analyst Manager or Lead.
• Assist IT project managers and teams across organization ensuring effective project management and business analysis best practices are being utilized on all projects
• Develops positive relationships with managers and staff to enable the PMO to provide support including facilitation, tracking and reporting on projects, and training as necessary
• Facilitate status reporting across multiple programs, projects, and business functions ensuring the effective tracking and communication of project status and metrics to IT and business leadership
• Administer stage-gating and mid-project reviews on select projects
• Participates in the development, publication, and communication of all business analysis methodology, policies, and standards based on industry-leading best practices
• Effectively communicates the administration of business analysis best practices throughout organization by establishing a consistent framework, processes, and tools and evaluating results after a project’s implementation to capture area’s to improve the PMO best practices
• Collaborates and considers input from all IT teams in the development and implementation of standards, common tools, and the Project Management Office’s methodology
• Strives to standardize and introduce economies of scale in the execution of business analysis across organization
• Share lessons learned and best practices across organization
