The Opportunity:
This position performs as the system manager and data administrator for event and classroom scheduling. The incumbent will oversee scheduling security as well as oversee implementation and maintenance of the scheduling system (Astra Schedule). This position will supervise a Space Utilization Coordinator position that has functional responsibilities over classroom and event scheduling. This position works independently under stringent deadlines and with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure data quality between Astra Schedule and PeopleSoft systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining business continuity and contingency plans.
  • Responsible for report and query development using Crystal Reports, SAS Enterprise Guide, PeopleSoft Query, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Responsible for the direction and development of operational and data processes and calendars for Astra Schedule scheduling system.
  • Serve as liaison with the Astra Schedule vendor regarding software troubleshooting and software updates.
  • Prepare and test patches and upgrades loaded by vendor.
  • Maintain library of both technical and end-user documentation and training programs.
  • Monitor space utilization, identify end-user needs, develop space utilization reports using Astra Schedule reports.
  • Provide support to classroom scheduling and the schedule build process.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of higher education, Florida Division of Education, UCF and Registrar's Office policies and procedures, ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies & procedures, experience in sound decision making and problem assessment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and demonstrate high attention to detail.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or other student information system.
  • Demonstrated experience with report writing or query writing.
  • Familiarity with classroom scheduling.
  • Experience with Astra Schedule or similar scheduling systems.
