Our technology-forward omnichannel and API-first solution allows any merchant to offer protection plans, both online and in store, while also providing a merchant's end customers with a vastly improved and modern support experience that eliminates many of the issues customers face today with legacy underwriters. More recently, Extend also launched a shipping protection solution, covering consumers in the case of lost, damaged or stolen packages. This is further expanding the company's addressable market and value creation for merchants.

We are a venture-backed startup in downtown San Francisco led by founders who have previously had multiple successful exits. Extend simplifies the technology stack for the product and shipping protection industries.

About the Role:

The Business Development Representative Manager role exists to create a successful and high-performing Sales Development team within our Emerging Brands and Mid Market segments. This person will be responsible for the direct management and operational performance of Sales Development Representatives and will be tasked with developing new and improving upon the Sales Development strategy and motion. This role reports to the Vice President of Sales.

This position will be hybrid on-site out of either New York City, NY or San Francisco, CA

What You'll Be Doing:

As the Manager of Sales Development you will be responsible for continuing to scale and lead our Sales Development organization. You will be an integral part of the sales leadership team by providing continuous mentorship for our SDRs, refining our Sales Development process, defining and tracking leading and lagging indicators and spearheading SDR recruiting. You will work closely with other leaders in Sales, Sales Operations, and Sales Enablement to drive the strategy for the Sales Development team.

  • Recruit, hire, coach, and manage the operational performance of a team of Business Development Representatives
  • Proactively identify and launch initiatives to drive new business development growth and operational excellence
  • Monitor and refine processes, metrics, and tools to maximize success on the BDR team
  • Achieve quarterly and annual pipeline and revenue targets
  • Report on pipeline-building metrics and forecast to senior sales management
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement, Product Marketing and Sales Operations for targeted training and development
  • Motivate individuals and team to exceed objectives through coaching and mentorship
  • Work with marketing and sales operations to ensure thorough follow up of inbound leads
  • Empower your team to take ownership of their territory
  • Ensure that team metrics are aligned with the broader organizational objectives
  • Provide insightful feedback from prospect conversations to product, sales and marketing leadership

What Were Looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or significant relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • A Coach: You hold yourself and your team accountable and you love teaching your team how to think differently and motivating them to continuously evolve in their sales career.
  • A Numbers Nerd: You recognize the importance of - and have the skills necessary to - take a quantitative approach to making decisions.
  • A Leader: You strive to elevate your team every day. You lead by example and inspire others to achieve and exceed their goals.
  • Three to five years of experience managing high performing Sales Development teams
  • Strong understanding of sales development best practices (cadence management, cold-calling, objection handling, etc.) and pipeline building process
  • Humility and empathy for the challenges our prospects face on a daily basis

Expected Pay Range: $190,000 per year OTE*

  • The target base salary range for this position is listed above. Individual salaries are determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, work location and job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Incentive compensation will be provided as part of a total compensation package.
