Business Specialist

Overview:

As a member of the Practice Analytics team, the Business Specialist will have a particular focus on data analysis and collaboration technologies. Thus, the successful candidate will be involved in a range of client- and Partner-facing project management activities, while also being proficient in reporting, document automation / management, and interactive support functionality within the team.

Responsibilities:

Prepare weekly management reports that reflect significant activity in key categories (e.g., billings, receipts, and discounts)
Prepare monthly firm financial summaries
Prepare weekly and monthly analyses for various Business Service departments & Practice Groups
Produce reports required for annual firm meeting presentations and packages
Develop skillset to create and document best practices as they relate to pricing and profitability
Collaborate with the Pricing team on practice group reporting
Work effectively with others on the Revenue and Finance Teams to determine the best ways to extract relevant financial data to analyze in relation to financial analysis

Salary Range: 60,000 - 65,000 (DOE)

Qualifications:

1-3 years post Bachelor's Degree required in an analytical environment (i.e., accounting, finance, economics) from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
Preferable experience with law firm technology including 3E
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Effectively communicate with a wide variety of personnel and personalities including partners, business development professionals and accounting staff
Strong analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills
Demonstrate flexibility to adapt quickly to change in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment
Able to work independently as well as in a team environment, including an ability to work across geographical borders
Comfortable working on multiple assignments and proven experience in prioritizing work
Demonstrate an openness to work within diverse cultural and business environments, using various communications methods to influence and lead others
Ability to apply learning in fast-paced business situations
