About The Role:  


The specific purpose of the Senior Salesforce Administrator (SSA) position within our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) team is to play a pivotal role in managing, optimizing, and enhancing our Salesforce environment to meet complex business requirements and support multiple program teams that rely on Salesforce and related technologies. The SSA will be instrumental in driving process improvements, customizing Salesforce to enhance functionality, and ensuring that the Salesforce platform supports the program teams’ objectives and adheres to organizational policies. 


In addition to technical responsibilities, this position entails leadership duties. The SSA will mentor other Salesforce Administrators and collaborate closely with business teams, business analysts, project managers, external developers, and other stakeholders to develop strategic solutions, optimize Salesforce processes, and strengthen relationships throughout the project planning and execution phases. This role is critical for ensuring that our Salesforce implementation aligns with business strategies, enhances user experience, and maximizes the value derived from the platform. 


This is a remote position that will require light travel (less than 10%). 


What You’ll Do:
  • Manage and optimize Salesforce CRM to support business operations across marketing, customer service, and processing teams. 
  • Lead technical planning, implementation, and maintenance of Salesforce projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. 
  • Develop and customize Salesforce solutions focused on process automation, data integration, and system improvements to drive efficiency. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business units, translating business requirements into technical executions. 
  • Monitor and report on Salesforce performance using data to assess KPIs like user adoption, system utilization, and ROI. 
  • Lead training sessions and workshops to maximize user engagement and competence with new Salesforce features and updates. 
  • Champion Salesforce best practices and compliance, ensuring adherence to legal standards, data security, and company policies. 
  • Design strategic initiatives that utilize Salesforce to support business growth and client engagement, such as system migrations and new feature rollouts. 
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive technology environment, considering diversity, equity, and inclusion in all system developments and user interactions. 
  • Maintain robust relationships with stakeholders, including senior leadership, aligning Salesforce development with broader business strategies. 
  • Ensure meticulous documentation and data management practices to uphold system accuracy and compliance. 


What You’ll Bring to the Table:
  • 7+ years of Salesforce administrator experience, including managing Salesforce environments, configurations, and customizations. 
  • Experience developing custom solutions within Salesforce using Apex, Visualforce, or Lightning Web Components. 
  • At least one current Salesforce Certification, such as Certified Salesforce Administrator; additional certifications (e.g., Experience Cloud Consultant, Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder) are highly valued. 
  • Experience delivering projects using multiple methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile) within an SDLC framework, specifically involving Salesforce deployments or significant system upgrades. 
  • Management experience – at least 3+ years overseeing Salesforce administrators and other technical positions. 
  • Collaboration with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into technical designs and optimize business workflows through Salesforce. 
  • Experience with ticketing software and managing customer requests, with a preference for Jira. 
  • Proficiency with Salesforce features, capabilities, and best practices, including Salesforce Flow. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred. 
  • Master's degree an added bonus


$110,912 - $126,273 a year

CALSTART values transparency and strives to provide as much information regarding compensation as possible. The complete salary range for this role is $110,912 - $126,273. Pay is determined based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
