Center 3 (19075), United States of America, McLean, VirginiaPrincipal Associate, Cyber Security Data ScientistThis candidate will operate as a team lead as CDS builds new data-driven systems to identify trends in our Cyber landscape and implement proactive actions.This candidate should be proficient in using BI tools such as Tableau, in addition to experience with one or more modern technologies such as relational databases, AWS, Snowflake, Python, Databricks, Git, and Machine Learning.In this role, you will be responsible for interacting with cyber security related data to create and communicate insights powering reports and real-time dashboards that create situational awareness and facilitate data-driven decisions.As part of this, you may be tasked to work with various teams across Cyber Operations, Engineering, Product, and Architecture to optimize our data delivery and extraction across multiple data sources.Responsibilities :Leveraging a blend of cybersecurity and data science knowledge to identify patterns and relevant insights that drive decision-making at operational and strategic levelsLeading initiatives to incorporate Machine Learning into projects and BAU activitiesMentorship and coaching of other CDS team membersExploring new technologies to continually improve our extraction, transformation, and load capabilitiesAssessing existing technologies, processes, products, and services to determine automation opportunitiesCreating, and enhancing, reports and dashboards (utilizing Tableau or Databricks) for various audiences that reflect the efficacy of people, processes, and technology within CyberCreating insights using new and existing technologies to provide situational awareness and contribute towards decision making processes across CyberEffectively communicating analytical insights sourcing from, and involving, Cyber Operations data to multiple audiences, recommending actions to improve our operational postureBuilding relationships with stakeholders across Detection & Mitigation to create new / improved insightsAbout you :An excellent communicator at various levels, able to develop and speak to code and analysis’, and translate methodology and findings to leadershipA team player that ensures they’re bringing their peers along with them and shares lessons learnedProficient in Python and SQL, and displays an emphasis on continuous learning opportunitiesAble to programmatically extract, transform, visualize, and analyze data from databases or S3Comprehend how data flows and changes, and share this knowledge with customers and teammatesRegularly leveraging existing cyber security knowledge to create relevant insights that facilitate data-driven decisionsBasic Qualifications :High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certificationAt least 4 years of experience using database management toolsAt least 4 years of experience using relational database systemsAt least 4 years experience utilizing SQLAt least 3 years of experience scripting in PythonAt least 3 years of experience creating visualizations with business intelligence tools (Tableau or PowerBI)At least 1 year of experience working with APIsPreferred Qualifications :Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related fieldProfessional Certification (Security+, Data+, Cyber Security Analyst+, or Systems Security Certified Practitioner)5+ years of experience working business intelligence tools1+ year of experience with Cloud services (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure)1+ year of experience building Machine Learning frameworks1+ year of experience utilizing Databricks1+ year of experience with Snowflake or S31+ year of experience with GitAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.
