What Communications Business Partners contributes to Cardinal HealthThe Manager, Communications Business Partner defines and executes communication and public relations strategies in support of the company's business objectives, image and reputation for both internal and external stakeholders. This function builds relationships with external stakeholders, including media and community organizations, and designs meetings and communications to leverage these relationships and promote the company.Position SummaryThe position is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies and tactics to engage external and internal stakeholders, focused on Health Systems, Specialty Physician Practices (rheumatology, multi-specialty infusion, retina, and nephrology) and Strategic Accounts. The role applies principles and practices that exemplify world-class communication, contributing to the communications strategies of the Pharmaceutical & Specialty Solutions segment.ResponsibilitiesGeneral• Guide leaders on effective communication methods and provide genuine, meaningful feedback.• Collaborate with leaders, staff, and external partners to develop and implement strategic external and internal communication plans that reflect the company’s mission, values, brand, and priorities all while mitigating risk.• Seek and maintain comprehensive understanding of the segment/business/function/services and solutions.• Collaborate with communications partners within Enterprise Communication to follow consistent communications processes, protocols and reporting standards.• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with marketing, corporate communications, and business teams, as well as outside agencies and consultants that support Communications and the business.• Develop process and protocols for existing and new initiatives and programs.External Communications• Develop PR and thought leadership plans for the programs and solutions supporting Specialty Physician Practices (specifically rheumatology, multi-specialty infusion, retina, and nephrology).• Execute and manage PR and thought leadership tactics, including media outreach and engagement and oversight of external PR agencies.• Create communication deliverables such as scripts, news releases, pitch letters, talking points, thought leadership articles, social media posts, etc.• Collaborate with Marketing on joint initiatives such as product launches, annual customer meetings, and content marketing initiatives.• Act as leader on business-specific issues and contribute to the company’s crisis communication and business continuity plans, including customer communications and stakeholder engagement.• Provide executive communications support, including support for external presentations, messaging or script development and presentation coaching.• Track and measure external activities.Social Media• Create and manage social content calendar, coordinating social initiatives with enterprise social media team.• Develop and curate social content using both internal and external sources.• Work with Creative Services to develop visual assets for social posts.• Manage social engagements with followers and other external audiences.• Manage social media measurement and reporting.Internal Communications• Create and coordinate internal announcements for the Health Systems and Specialty Physician Practices and Strategic Accounts teams.• Create and manage content for internal channels (Intranet, Viva Engage, internal newsletter, etc.)• Curate feature stories for internal newsletter.• Develop content and provide support with key internal meetings, town hall meetings, leadership meetings and National Sales Meetings.• Support internal cultural initiatives.• Develop internal content to support the roll-out of strategic business initiativesExecutive Communications• Counsel senior executives and other stakeholders on critical communication issues.• Work with senior leadership to anticipate and respond to urgent issues.• Create and coordinate executive messages for external and internal stakeholders.Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.• 6+ years of experience in communications, public relations or related field, preferred.• Communications project management experience, preferred.• Previous healthcare communications experience, preferred.• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.• Applied knowledge in working with social media and digital communications.• Knowledge of effective branding strategies and plans for implementation.• Self-directed, action oriented, forward-thinking and innovative with high ethical standards.• Strong analytical skills, good judgment and strong operational focus.• Strong organizational and project management skills.• Team player with the ability to work cross functionally with peers and other business leaders.• Demonstrated ability to lead change in the face of adversity;
