Event Manager

Are you passionate about organizing impactful events that bring developers together? Our team is planning a large developer-focused conference early 2025, and we’re seeking a Short-Term Event Manager contractor to join us. In this role, you will own and execute our event strategy and production from start to finish.


The ideal candidate has a strong track record in planning and producing large-scale conferences (300+) in the tech industry, particularly for developer audiences. If you are passionate about developer marketing, AI, or education, we’d love to hear from you!


This is a short-term contractor position with the possibility of transition to long-term contractor or employee position.


You must already have, or be able to obtain, authorization to work in the United States.


Here’s what you’ll do:
  • Develop and oversee all aspects of the event program, from strategy to execution.
  • Manage the end-to-end production of a large-scale, developer-focused conference (500+ attendees).
  • Lead all production, logistics, and communications for the event marketing channel.
  • Oversee the event marketing budget, including allocations for channels, contractors, and technology.


Here are the skills you should have:
  • 3+ years’ experience planning and producing end-to-end for physical industry events.
  • Experience in large (500+) developer-facing in-person events is a plus. 
  • Experience with Hubspot is a plus.
  • Experience with monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on performance.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills to manage multiple tasks and projects while sticking to deadlines.


Bonus if you have:
  • Experience marketing to developer audiences.
  • Experience with working for an AI company.
  • Prior startup experience wearing multiple hats within the marketing department.
