About the role Are you passionate about the web and design systems? Do you have a deep understanding of user needs and strive to create the solution possible? Join our UX Design Team as an Associate UX Designer and contribute to the... development of innovative features and seamless experiences for our websites and applications. Through design research, you'll gain valuable insights into user behavior and preferences, informing your strategic approach. Collaborating effectively, planning meticulously, and demonstrating expertise in interaction and visual design, you'll bring that vision to life. As a key advocate of UX and human-centered design principles, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering a UX culture at the SEI. This is a 6-month fixed-term position with potential for renewal. What you'll do • Collaborate within cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to understand project goals, user needs, and business requirements. • Conduct design research like interviews and usability testing to gather valuable insights and inform design decisions. • Translate design research findings into actionable design solutions such as user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes. • Create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that align with brand guidelines and best practices in user experience design. • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our design system to ensure consistency and efficiency. • Collaborate with senior designers and UX leads to support larger design initiatives. • Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless implementation of design solutions, providing necessary design assets, specs, and guidance. • Advocate for human-centered design principles and contribute to fostering a culture of UX excellence within the organization. Who you are • Passionate and Curious: You are genuinely passionate about UX design and stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field. • Experience: You have 1+ years of experience in a UX Design role or related field. • Proven Design Skills: You can demonstrate your expertise in conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and delivering impactful user experiences. Proficiency in relevant design tools is a must. • Problem-Solving Abilities: You are a natural problem solver, able to connect the dots between user requirements, business objectives, and technical constraints. You can simplify complexity. • User Empathy: You can empathize with different user groups, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of the design process. • Collaboration and Communication: You thrive in a collaborative environment. Your strong communication skills allow you to effectively articulate design ideas, rationale, and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Attention to Detail: You have a meticulous eye for detail and every aspect of your design is well thought-out. • Continuous Learner: You are committed to personal and professional growth, constantly enhancing your expertise in UX design. You embrace feedback and see it as an opportunity for improvement. • Portfolio: You have an impressive online or PDF portfolio that showcases your design process, highlights your strong design artifacts, and reflects your excellent visual design and writing skills. • Enthusiasm and Drive: You bring enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude to your work, inspiring those around you and driving the success of the UX team.
