OVERVIEW:


Beiersdorf Inc. is seeking a self-motivated individual who will deliver thought leadership and unlock commercial growth opportunities through the creation of winning, category centric strategies and the execution of effective category management principles.

Reporting to the Dir. Category Management, collaborating closely with the CVS team and utilising the full data and analytical resources of the company, the successful candidate will develop and leverage a deep understanding of the CVS business, relevant categories, and shopper profiles, generate strong insights, and apply them on your way to becoming a trusted category partner as part of the Category Leadership process.

The successful candidate will also understand how CVS operates internally, helping to shape future new product innovation and in store activation requirements, and contributing insight and understandings that will identify revenue growth opportunities and in store Distribution, Price, Promotion, Shelving and Merchandising execution principles. Further, the right candidate will also leverage their experience and expertise to build and raise the level of category management expertise across the department and within the CVS Customer team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adapt long term category visions and category strategies for CVS that provide the framework for all category management deliverables in the customer.
  • Ability to create and manage category scorecards and to develop meaningful, retailer relevant actions for growth from these.
  • Translate shopper insights, consumer research, market data analysis and trend analysis into actionable, retailer relevant and actional category recommendations.
  • Drive assortment management and define core assortment by category based on purchase structure. Provide unbiased recommendations on optimal category assortment to the retailer based on clear understanding of product, segment performance and current/ anticipated category trends. Track distribution performance.
  • Develop recommended planograms based on a clearly defined shelf management strategy using purchase structure and other relevant insights to be deployed across store clusters. Monitor and track shelf metrics; develop strategies and tactics to further align ambition vs the status quo. Assist in the coordination of shelf audit across customer stores when needed.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute category projects that embed the category strategy and will unlock category growth.
  • Assist in the innovation market activation process by providing category, shopper insights and understandings, range and segment analysis, customer centric thinking and support and recommendations for CVS category reviews.
  • Leverage strong relationship building skills and excellent communication skills to influence key stakeholders


REQUIREMENTS:


  • BS/BA in relevant field, Marketing/Business Administration preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a Category Management or similar discipline
  • Direct experience working with CVS or other National Retailers
  • Remote located near the CVS HQ in Woonsocket, RI
  • Ability to think strategically and increase effectiveness at achieving overall strategies in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Ability to connect and develop tactical recommendations that deliver toward strategies.
  • Ability to manage projects with deadlines to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships across many functions and external partners.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to influence and secure cross-functional support.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and business acumen to build strong business cases for change.
  • Must have strong presentation skills.
  • Must be technology savvy and have strong office productivity software skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI) to use promotion databases, financial reporting, and promotional analysis.
  • Must have experience using syndicated sources such as CVS Extra Care, CVS Test & Learn process, IRI Unify & Panel, Kantar, Numerator, etc.
  • Must have experience using ad-hoc research as Euromonitor, Mintel, Path to Purchase, Category Segmentation, etc.
