The Role you’ll play:

CB Insights is seeking a Director of Public Relations and Communications who excels in both strategic leadership and hands-on execution. This role is designed for a visionary leader adept at developing comprehensive communication strategies, enhancing brand visibility through compelling narratives, and driving organic growth through organic search and content initiatives. You will manage media relations, content creation, and leverage data-driven insights to promote our brand's story.

Your Main Tasks:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a public relations and communications strategy that aligns with CB Insights' goals and values, with a strong emphasis on organic search and content-driven growth.
  • Brand Messaging: Craft and maintain compelling brand narratives that enhance visibility and market presence, ensuring message consistency across all platforms and communications.
  • Public Relations Management:
    • Handle inbound media inquiries and build programs to enable top tier media outlets to easily leverage CBInsights data and research.
    • Forge and nurture strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, and industry leaders to secure positive coverage
    • Ensure media coverage aligns with our core target audiences, enhancing brand awareness and reach.
    • Initiate programs to streamline access to CB Insights data for journalists and influencers and engage company stakeholders as subject matter experts to boost visibility.
  • Content Orchestration and Amplification: Work closely with our research teams to leverage our industry-leading content to create high-quality, engaging stories, including press releases, blog posts, and social media posts, tailored to resonate with our target audiences. Leverage CB Insights' data to uncover content opportunities, ideate unique content, and satisfy target audience queries.
    • Orchestrate cross-functional process to amplify and distribute content to drive traffic, leads and opportunities
    • Drive subscriber base for core newsletter program and amplify content via additional channels
  • Grow brand visibility and organic reach:
    • Create a strategy to drive traffic and growth with a strong emphasis on organic search.
    • Uncover content opportunities within product, research portal pages and back end data that can be leveraged as organic assets
    • Use CB Insights data to ideate and craft unique content

    • Builds strong cross-functional partnerships.

    • Motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment.
    • Balances numerous priorities and demands effectively.
  • At least 8 years of experience in public relations and communications, with a proven track record in organic search, content strategy, and media relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful PR and communications strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong network of media and influencer contacts.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools to measure content performance.
  • Deep understanding of SEO best practices and content marketing.
  • Knowledge of the tech industry and market intelligence, with an ability to leverage data in storytelling.

Please note this is a US-based role.

In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible for a bonus opportunity.

A little bit about our pay practices: Typically, we will hire at our Hiring Target, but actual starting pay may be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation, candidate experience, and budgetary constraints.

$133,500$169,100 USD
