PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The NOAA Office of Human Capital Services (OHCS) provides policies, programs, and processes that facilitate the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of a diverse, highly skilled, motivated, and effective workforce capable of accomplishing the agency’s mission. Their competence, creativity, commitment, diversity, and innovation are vital to the accomplishment of the NOAA mission and the nation’s interests.
Job Responsibilities:
•The Administrative Assistant shall provide administrative services that may include, but are not limited to, the following services for any component of NOAA’s Office of Human Capital Services.
oVoluntary Leave Transfer Program
oReports
oEmployee File Maintenance
oRequests for Preliminary Employment Data
oTime and Attendance
oTraining and Development program coordination
oSecretarial and/or clerical Support
oHuman Resources program coordination support
•Provide administrative support to executive staff with office management responsibilities to include budgeting, personnel records and payroll.
•Work independently on projects requiring research and preparation of briefing charts and other presentation materials.
Job Requirements:
•1-2 years of experience providing administrative support.
•Strong customer service skills
•Ability to pass a Public Trust background investigation.
•Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
•Experience supporting the National Weather Service (NWS) or other Federal agencies strongly preferred.
