The Sterile Processing Department within the health care facility is responsible for the delivery of medical surgical instruments which have been properly processed by decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and issued for patient use. The Sterile Processing Team Leader has chosen to accomplish certification in Sterile Processing and or Surgical Technology. The Sterile Processing Team Leader is an expert among his or her peers and assigns, monitors, and inspects employees' work within the sterile processing.

Education
High School Diploma or GED

Experience
Five years of related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.
