To be a great health system, we must be a great place to work.
To provide great care, we need a great team. And to offer our community a great team, every person on that team must be treated with compassion, dignity and respect.
Everyone should feel accepted. Everyone should feel included. Everyone should feel respected.
This not always simple, but it is vital to our mission. We must all:
Our community includes persons of different ethnicities, races, genders, identities, sexual orientations, ages and abilities. We are building and retaining a team that ensures our patients feel represented among their caregivers.
Everyone on our team deserves to work in an environment in which they can be themselves — including the full richness of their backgrounds and life experiences.
We’re a mission-driven community healthcare organization focusing on helping our neighbors live long, healthy and active lives.
Great care is a team effort. It takes compassionate clinicians, diligent environmental service professionals, culinary minded food and nutrition services staff and a host of others to help people heal.
At Tanner, you’ll feel engaged, valued and part of something unique in health care.
A career that matters
Health care is more than a career — it’s a calling. It’s a way to serve others, to help people through what may often be the most difficult or joyful times of their lives.
Everyone at Tanner is a healthcare professional — clinical and nonclinical alike. Here, we’re all working toward the same goal: improving health for the communities we serve.

You Can Make a Difference
At Tanner Health System, our volunteers are one of our greatest treasures. Each activity to which volunteers dedicate their time has a direct and positive impact on both our patients and community. By volunteering, you are providing not only a valuable service but giving the most precious gift you have to the community — your time.
In 2014, more than 300 volunteers donated more than 60,000 hours to help out at Tanner. Volunteers are needed for the auxiliaries on our hospital campuses in Carrollton, Villa Rica and Bremen — each serving the needs of its own hospital and community — as well as for Tanner Hospice Care, in Pastoral Care as a hospital chaplain and for the various healthy initiatives of Get Healthy, Live Well.
Volunteer as a Chaplain
A hospital stay can be a frightening, anxious and lonely experience. Tanner calls on a number of professional and lay clergy to provide spiritual and emotional support to our patients, as well as to their families and friends.
If you’re interested in extending your ministry to the patient care setting, call 770.812.9461.
Volunteer at Tanner Hospice Care
Tanner Hospice Care is our community’s only locally based, nonprofit hospice care provider. Hospice volunteers play an important role, making a difference in the lives of hospice patients and their families. To qualify to assist in patient care, volunteers must apply. A training program and background check are required, since the work involves close engagement in a patient’s home.

Volunteer at a Tanner Hospital
The smiling faces of Tanner’s auxiliary members and volunteers can be seen throughout the hospital. Some assignments have a great deal of patient contact and interaction, while others have very limited patient contact. Auxilians and volunteers serve in multiple sites at each facility in a variety of roles. Whether serving at a hospital’s information desks, in our gift shops or in the transportation office, volunteers brighten the lives of our patients and are an important part of Tanner’s healthcare team.
There are volunteer opportunities for adults, college students, high school students and groups, as well as short-term opportunities, throughout Tanner’s healthcare facilities. So, whether you have a few hours to give or are available for a longer period, you’ll be able to make a difference.

Just as our employees are dedicated to meeting the needs of each patient, our Tanner Advantage benefits program is designed to meet the needs of each Tanner team member. At Tanner, we are committed to providing a competitive benefits and compensation package that gives our employees the resources they need to grow in their careers, care for their own and their family's health and wellbeing, and prepare for their financial futures.
The Tanner Advantage program includes a variety of resources that allows our full-time employees (working 30 or more hours a week) to create a benefits package that is tailored to their needs:
Our part-time and PRN employees are critical to our success as well. We offer our part-time and PRN staff the ability to participate in Tanner’s retirement programs and receive the same generous match. In addition, all employees (full-time, part-time and PRN) receive the following benefits:
Tanner Health System is also committed to providing physical activity and wellness opportunities for our employees. We were recognized as a 2016 Gold Level Recipient of the American Heart Association’s Fit-Friendly Worksites Recognition program.
And perhaps the most important benefit of all, you'll have the chance to work with some of the most caring and dedicated people you will find — the staff of Tanner Health System.
