Electrical Staff Designer II

At CESO, an Electrical Staff Designer II is responsible for assisting in the execution of technical design, calculations, and document productions for assigned projects, completing all tasks on a project on time, on budget, and consistently within industry standards.  You will have primary responsibilities that include: 


Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop design approaches and concepts in collaboration with senior design staff
  • Perform calculations and design engineering systems in collaboration with internal staff
  • Develop system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and schedules
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for conformance to plan documents and project specifications
  • Prepare and modify studies, plans, reports, specifications, and designs for projects as directed
  • Learn and apply local, state, and federal regulations
  • Learn and adapt engineering information, codes, and standards into the project designs
  • Visit project sites to verify existing conditions and/or observe construction progress
  • Establish communication of design requirements with architects, contractors, and equipment manufacturer representatives to determine project scope and feasibility
  • Support engineers and project managers in daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects
  • Other project duties as assigned


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or 3+ years of relevant design experience
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) and certification as an EIT with a state licensure board preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry, codes, and standards
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Revu, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry software as required
