CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Subsurface Utilities Manager to join our Power & Manufacturing – Gas Engineering Team at our Albany, NY office.

CHA has a long track record of delivering safe, cost-efficient, and reliable designs for gas transmission pipelines, custody transfer stations, distribution mains, regulator stations, and customer connections. Our team can also certify plans and help gas utilities navigate the process of bringing infrastructure projects into regulatory compliance and enhance quality control.

 

The Subsurface Utilities Manager, an important technical leadership role at CHA, leads an effective and productive team of technical professionals. A Subsurface Utilities Manager’s success is measured by their team's technical quality, achieving team utilization targets, engaging, and motivating their team to go above and beyond, and effective management of project budgets. The professional in this role organizes, directs, and coordinates activities associated with the project scope of work either individually or collectively with their team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline specific engineering experience required
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with the proven ability to practically apply engineering best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (GasWorks, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Familiar with QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required
  • An active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader
  • Ability to resolve matters timely and lead projects to completion with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, build and manage relationships across the company
  • Experience with project budgeting preferred
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of accounting processes
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the discipline’s technical processes

SALARY RANGE:

$96,120 - $114,480

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
