Chief Talent & Inclusion Officer

The Chief Talent & Inclusion Officer for Marsh McLennan will lead our efforts in developing and retaining our extraordinary people. Working in conjunction with the Chief People Officer and the MMC Executive Committee, you will shape and deliver the firm’s talent strategy for our 85,000 plus colleagues across the globe. As the leader of the Talent and Inclusion Center of Expertise, this role will lead and develop a team of talent, learning and inclusion professionals with a shared aim of ensuring Marsh McLennan continues to develop and retain talent needed to support the enterprise.

As an integral member of the People Leadership Team, this role is instrumental in setting the organization’s people strategy, determining and delivering innovative people solutions and helping shape a high performing culture that promotes diversity, equity & inclusion. You will inspire those around you by setting clear direction, embodying the Marsh McLennan Leadership Mindset, and empowering teams to perform.

The Chief Talent & Inclusion Officer reports to the Marsh McLennan Chief People Officer.

What we will count on you to:

  • Create and implement enterprise-wide strategies around talent and inclusion, fostering best practices and driving operational excellence and organizational impact.

  • Deliver expertise and insights to support leadership development, engagement, performance management, talent and succession planning and all colleague career development.

  • Leverage expert knowledge, thorough best-practice awareness, and resources to oversee and direct large-scale program and project plan design to influence long-term business goals and strategy.

  • Lead an exceptional team; ensure they have the right technical skills, possess a high level of business acumen, and are effective partners capable of delivering results on time and at quality.

  • Design metrics to measure impact of talent programs and practices, accounting for regional variation, program design and desired outcomes and behaviors.

  • Support Board engagement on topics related to talent and succession.

  • Advisory and consulting skills combined with pragmatism regarding solutions.

  • Proven ability to deliver a meaningful portfolio of work on budget, balancing near-term advancement with progress toward longer-term goals.

  • Developer of partnerships with cross-business and functional partners that facilitate outcomes for our colleagues and company.

  • Proven ability to develop talent, create high performing teams and support an inclusive culture.

  • High-learning agility and strategic mindset with innovative thinking around talent and leadership development.

  • Deep experience and expertise in talent management, inclusion and learning and development practices, with a solid knowledge of HR technology / support tools.

  • Recognized leader in human capital programs and practices in a global organization that brings a forward thinking, strategic perspective to creating the employee experience.

  • Proven ability in successfully operating in a matrixed (geographic / functional) global work environment, handling multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.

  • Strong business acumen with a commercial approach; exceptional business insight and strategic orientation.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $275,000 to $400,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
