Clinical Therapist- Play Therapy

About the JobAs part of the multidisciplinary team, this position provides clinical services to children receiving medical care within Hematology and Oncology at Children’s Health. This position will be part of an established embedded psychology team and will focus on providing play therapy to patients within the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders on our Plano campus. Reasons for referral include concerns for anxiety, behavioral difficulties, and coping/adjustment. Providing services to young children (under 7 years of age) and their caregivers will be a particular area of focus for this position.Some Highlighted Responsibilities• Intervention with patients, caregivers, and families and consultation to multidisciplinary team members• Clinical services will include play therapy and family interventionShift/Location: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Position based at our Plano location.ExperienceRequired: At least 2 years of recent experience working with children and familiesRequired: Experience with young children (<5 years old) and their familiesPreferred: Experience providing services to children and families in a medical settingEducationRequired: Master’s degreeCertificationsRequired: Licensure in Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.Required: Registered Play Therapist (RPT) CertificationRequired: Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider Course (BLS) Certification must be completed within 30 days of hire and renewed every two yearsAbout usChildren’s Health values the role each member of our team plays in helping us make life better for children.
